My visit to #GoreeIsland #Senegal in 2024. From the 15th to 19th century it was the largest slave trading post on the African coast. Unlike Elmina Castle in Ghana, all of the buildings are brightly painted. This trip to Senegal was monumental.

Perfect Posture #GoreeIsland #Senegal. Taken on my first day in Senegal. As I’ve toured the various places on the globe connected with the African slave trade, I’ve noticed that Goree Island felt different “energetically”. Perhaps because it is an active community not just host to a memorial.
