I was able to check out Stupid Never Dies via a presentation by developer GPTrack50, a new studio led by former Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi. Seems real neat, but I saw it before news broke that NetEase Games is about to cut funding for Nagoshi Studio & GPTrack50 is in that same boat.

The fact they basically spent three years trying to refine the core gameplay before getting the graphics done and STILL put in the care to make sure the visual style was as unique as the gameplay really does show GPTrack50's care for their craft as a developer imo.

Adding further clarification (I'm afraid people may've misinterpreted this post) that GPTrack50 was also a studio established by NetEase Games w/ a recognizable Japanese veteran to lead it. Not saying that NetEase Games also cut funding to them, but their circumstances are similar to Nagoshi Studio.
