To my point: left is a death cap (Amanita phalloides). Right is a porcini (B. Edulis grandedulis).

This person was in Julie’s mentions in response to Julie posting some porcini (Boletus edulis grandedulis), and was all, “aNyONe caN mAKe a miStAKe.” This person has clearly never seen a death cap (or possibly any wild mushroom). If she had, she’d know: you cannot mistake porcini for death caps.

Checked the spot before the rain comes on Tuesday and lol. Lmao.

Our Boletus edulis var. grandedulis is also the largest Porcini in the world on average.
Trumpets are the best, and there are sooo many big patches in SCM
