What’s flowering at the Fuchsietum? Fuchsia ‘Grayrigg’ was bred by Alfred Thomley of the UK in 1978 and forms a shrub to about two feet tall (60 cm). Thomley was a train driver and named the fuchsia after his stops at the station in Grayrigg, a small village in Eastmoreland, Cumbria.

Interestingly, I misremembered the reason the Grayrigg derailment had a positive effect on rail safety: I'd been thinking it was a public enquiry that made recommendations for improvements that were all adopted, but it was the coroner's Rule 43 report en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grayrig...

VT leased 2 x Adelantes after losing a 390 at Grayrigg but eventually settled on the 'Pretendolino' instead. 180s went back to the ROSCO, but I've still got livery drawings I produced to fit a Pendo-esque livery - yours is not far off! 👍
