Dejando aparte las marsopas a las que me habría encantado poder hacer un vídeo, desde luego la mejor observación desde el ferry fue esta: el arao aliblanco (Cepphus grylle), mi cuarto y último bimbo del viaje y un ave a la que le tenía muchísimas ganas 😄

En plumaje de cría es un ave de color por entero negra, salvo por una gran mancha blanca en los hombros. Las patas (y el interior de la boca, que no se le ve en la foto) son de color naranja-rojizo vivo.

This Black Guillemot is in its winter plumage with a striking black-and-white pattern, appearing mostly white below with black barring on its back and black wings. It head is reflecting on the calm water next Scapa Pier, and its bright red right leg is visible beneath the surface.
