Hello everyone. Some hedgerows are still covered with guelder rose berries and they’re one of a few berries that still grow at this time of year. Have wonderful Wednesday everyone ♥️🌿 #GuelderRose #NaturePhotography

I have to admit I assumed this was a hydrangea, but it's actually viburnum opulus 'Roseum', commonly known as the guelder rose. Those balls of tightly furled green flowers will turn white as they mature hence the common name 'snowball bush' 🌱

These Guelder Rose berries really stood out amongst the gloom of a grey damp drizzly day. I planted this shrub amongst others fourteen years ago on the local nature reserve that I was working on with volunteers today. (My brilliant volunteers stood out on a grey damp drizzly day too) #WildflowerHour

It's been a busy week at the park, with 8 confirmed new wildflowers starting to bloom and a possible ninth one. Seeing something new 6 days in a row was unexpected but appreciated. This is Guelder-rose, very similar to American highbush cranberry, the difference being the leaves.
