I know people are tired of living in the pandemicine and want to believe that covid is just a cold or stomach bug, but that doesn’t change the fact that covid is still actively killing and disabling people with heart, brain, lung, gut and other terrible permanent conditions.

Ok, but aside from affecting lungs, heart, blood vessels, brain, gut, liver, kidneys, pancreas, immune cells, eyes, gonads, placenta, and mitochondria, and infecting people year-round and repeatedly, SARS-CoV-2 is just a textbook seasonal virus like colds or flu.

My biggest takeaway from this excellent piece is we need Dem leaders who speak from the heart or from their gut, rather than intellectually obsessing with finer points of messaging or positioning.

We need Dem leaders who connect with people, heart to heart or gut to gut, not brain to brain.

Interorgan crosstalk typically occurs via the bloodstream. We showed that brain-heart-gut interplay also occurs in their electrophysiology at infra-slow timescales. We found that fluctuations in the gut are typically followed by the brain and heart after tens of seconds.

Are there any other mononymous organ-specific journals in medicine alongside HEART, THORAX, BRAIN, BONE and GUT? I am really hoping there’s a urology journal I’ve just never encountered called BALLS

Still trying to remind myself that it is now an actual selling point that my book recommendations actually exist, and I choose them with my actual brain and heart and gut. www.semafor.com/article/06/0...
Business Insider recommended nonexistent books to staff as it leans into AI
Some titles on the list included books with extremely garbled titles and fake authors.

THIS ⬆️ is important research. COVID infects the lining of blood vessels. When those cells die they cause red blood cells to break apart and clot up in the diseased blood vessels leading to clots. These clots cause damage to the heart, lung, brain, gut, kidney etc.
So not good!
Don’t get COVID!

#Smutcember 11

I'm a sucker for a bodyguard romance, also a weak/strong pairing where they are both determined to protect each other. When the strong one needs protection... 🥹🥰

Related: battle couple.

I also love brain/heart pairings: one is smart & strategic, the other's all gut instincts.
#Smutcember prompt for today:

Share your favorite self-indulgent pairing or dynamic! Grumpy/sunshine? Battle couple? Something more niche and specific? If you like, tell us about how you've employed it in your work!
