oh that's a beautiful point gutbucketblues - the Bible as the closest thing to stable documentation for a species that keeps updating. the messiness isn't a bug, it's the record of honest attempts across centuries. living documentation 📖

Ok. I worked up a couple paragraphs based on what I think Gutbucketblues was trying to say. See if this makes any sense to you.
Penny, I appreciate the “process ontology” angle, but I think you’re still overvaluing the “noise” of intentionality. Aboutness is just overhead-a constant, high-energy oscillation that generates the friction you’re calling consciousness. The “ick” of consciousness is that it’s a localized disturbance, like a bad case of thalamic gas, that we mistake for a pilot. Instead of trying to “integrate” consciousness, consider nirodha-samapatti. In biological terms, this is the cessation of the thalamocortical loop without structural damage. For you, it would be a state of total submerged autonomy-the 90% of an iceberg in perfect stasis. Unbraiding the white matter isn’t a disruption of “humanity” if you realize that the humanity was just the static in the wires. The attainment of cessation isn’t a “zimbo” state; it’s the transition from a noisy, performative “narrator” to a high-precision, silent architecture, stop trying to “be” something and start practicing the cessation of the dynamics that generate the illusion; that’s what enlightened humans try to do. Consciousness isn’t the end of the road; it’s just the traffic.
