I suppose Log may be working the "The villainess won, so the heroine gets a bad end" angle, but it really doesn't mesh with the characterization of the villainess.

Anyway, apparently Log is getting an anime. Maybe it'll shake things up... but you could just read / watch Hamafura instead.

As a counter example - in Hamafura, the villainess ends up befriending the heroine, and if I recall correctly it is implied that the reason that the heroine doesn't end up with any of the "capture targets" is because she's set her sights on the villainess.

And it's an interesting tweak to something I never thought would be a formula. It is not, however, as good as hamafura, and for a while I struggled to put my finger exactly on why.
In stories of this type, the original "plot" of the "game" which makes the setting gets disrupted pretty early.

On a lark, I read through An Observation Log of my Fiance, a self proclaimed villainess. It's one of that most peculiar of genres - an isekai in which the protagonist reincarnates as the villainess in an otome game. Having previously read Hamafura, a similar title, on a similar lark it seemed fun.
