#showmeyourknits this week is bulky/chunky. This sweater started out as a raw Shetland fleece. I scoured the fleece, carded batts, and spun from the fold to create enormous fluffy yarn that I used to create this lofty, warm cardigan. I love it!

Great visit to Castle Howard Arboretum today. Much needed immersion in nature. Also great inspiration for some new handspun art yarn, might be busy this week!

I'm glad to see you are using your first handspun yarns. It looks like it has charm and character. It will likely make a cozy blanket, even if it's not how you would spin now.

Plus if I cling to this philosophy I can indulge my broken mind about creating more and more compounding tables for the purposes of pushing the risk of full replication even deeper into the exponentials.

Art yarn mini skeins with beehive coils are some of my favourites to spin. These are merino with added viscose nepps, and have a slightly tweedy appearance and texture. Great as accent yarns in knitting or weaving projects.

dragged my feet a little finishing these skeins up but they're done and ready for swatching. that's about a third of the fiber, I'm going to try to get more done before I start the sweater properly.

finally finished knitting + weaving in the ends + blocking the partial handspun cardigan project I'd been planning/working on this entire year 🥺 a big milestone...there's still the buttons but I can't believe it's done (also I forgot to take pics so I have to wait for it to dry)

Me too!! They are so satisfying to knit into this. I fiddle a bit with them so each of them goes on the outside, but it's not difficult.
