Interesting note: The text on the die and next to it are in hanja, which is Korean in Chinese characters. Hangul, the Korean characters people are familiar with, didn’t come into common usage until the late 19th century. Thus, a 1000 year old die would be in hanja.

Now this is really interesting to me. This hanja 無 (무) (nothing, nothingness) is mixed in with your standard hangul. I tried looking up how many hanja a Korean native knows on average but I got varying answers. I've seen some used in the news as well 🤔

it's only very recently that hanja knowledge has steeply declined in korea, and even still most koreans will recognise a few basic hanja, they're sometimes used in newspapers, and are heavily used in legal contexts where homophones need to be disambiguated
