#hardward
I can think of a close 2nd, respectfully. Putting all computer/devices users permanently in "Positive Control" via the OS, and "Positive Hardward Control" with the processor, BIOS, and graphics processor. To understand what is meant here, the phrase "positive control" can be studied.

Stuff like this makes me more certain the underlying threat is letting a few corporations control all the physical hardware (ie ram and hard drives) needed to run powerful software like this. The hardward monopolization of the last few years is fueled by the weird hype.

Besides, even if Zun had the source code for those games, it would still be a challenge to get those games running on newer console hardware due to pc-98 games being very hard to port to new hardward. Also if they were being ported today, I’d image there would be also another roadblock being-

You can't usually pick up a small nuclear reactor at the hardward store. There's a lot of paperwork

Data centers are data centers, they all have the exact same infrastructure, the exact same rack hardward, the exact same power and water usage profiles.

These new centers are just larger (and more resource efficient per unit of compute). Why are you crying about resources yet you hate efficiency?

Lucky for you, the authors believe in open science and provide VERY detailed instructions on how to build your own.
A trip to the hardward store and bottomless soup can be yours!

The Cthulhu cap top hat in all
Its glory.

They say the wearer turns mad if they wear it for a prolonged period of time. They start off talking gibberish. Some say it’s the language of the great old ones…. But who knows!

That is a beautiful piece of hardward! I am somewhat envious; mine is just plain old titanium! Rehab is the ticket; you'll be feeling better soon.

I used to exclusively use Logitech. It's is fantastic hardward hindered by horrendous software. Theyve got some of the best wireless dongles on the market, but I end up buying Chinese keyboards with unusable dongles running them on Bluetooth because I refuse to deal with Logitech driver bullshit.

Iran has an Army of about 1 MILLION and clearly much better hardward than IRAQ had.

To invade IRAN you need a staging area.. do you see any nation around IRAN that will let that many American's prepare to invade like Kuwait did?

Rt? F'ing AVG-a "free anti-viral" program is CONSTANTLY interrupting me, wanting me to "upgrade"...go figure. So much for "free", eh? Like that Lowe's Hardward email I fell for...fancy tool kit, just pay shipping, for filling out a survey. GAVE THEM MY CC INFO! Next thing? Unauthorized charges. DOH!
August 25, 2025 at 2:48 PM
Embarrassed (sp?) to say I fell for one recently...Lowe's Hardward often sends surveys after shopping there, & offered a big tool kit IF I filled out another one, all I had to do was pay shipping $9.95. DOH! Then here come the fake charges $39.95...cc co. canceled 'em. WHEW! Can't believe I bit it.

i get the allure, and a gyst of what the hardward restrictions are for why there's a finite amount of plots per ward (i imagine more would cause computers to chug or crash)

If I want Retro Stuff... I would seek the original hardward in Akihabara... not an emulator box with limited ROM with maybe 12 games like SNK did with NeoGeo. To emulate, I have a Switch.

because that is often used as ratings advertisment in selling their shit.

And the reviewer has a high interest in not being too harsh, because if they are, they might just not receive the next piece of new hardward to be gifted to them for "review".
