I couldn't help but be tempted by the 11% Harviestoun Old Engine Oil Engineer's Reserve on cask at the Pot Still. A third(ish - they don't have any proper glasses) for £2.15, bargain.

Another classic I haven't had in a while: Old Engine Oil Black Ale (but very stoutlike) from Harviestoun Brewery (Alva, Scotland). Calls itself "viscous, chocolately, roasty", and I'm not going to disagree. Even a tad smoky, and hopped up nicely as well. Hard not to like this! #BeerSky #BskyBeer

This is a very rare special release, Harviestoun Ola Dubh Special Reserve 40 on hand-pull cask. Aged in 40 year old Highland Park Single Malt Scotch barrels. It’s too thin on the mouthfeel, but it’s a dark ale not a stout so it is what it is. Still very complex. Really fun but no need to try again.
