Fascinating story of the 1972 ‘Blue Marble’ first complete photo of Earth from space taken by the crew of Apollo 17 on a Hasselbad loaded with 70mm film. There are definite changes seen now, the shrinking of polar ice caps and expanding desertification.
How 50 years of climate change has changed the face of the 'Blue Marble' from space
The "Blue Marble" was the first photo of the whole Earth and the only ever taken by a human. Fifty years on, new images of the planet reveal visible changes to the Earth's surface.

Out to lunch for pizza today with my “Hasselbad” crappy digital camera (preset applied in an app called 1998 cam)

Hasselbad contender right here.

I held the close up lens from my Lomo Instant Wide in front of my Hasselbad (I wish the camera actually had a name 🤣) and wasn’t too unhappy with the results

Wedding Rock Petroglyphs. Olympic National Park. Ozette Beach, WA. 1985.

The rock carvings (petroglyphs) are thought to be 300 to 500 years old.

📸 “Hasselbad”
With a “disposable camera” filter applied

(I wish the camera had a name. It just says “digital camera” on the front, and the EXIF lists the camera as “M31.”)

August 8 1969 THE BEATLES' ABBEY ROAD album cover is shot by photographer Iain Macmillan at 11.30 a.m. Using a Hasselbad & a stepladder, Macmillan has 10 minutes to take 6 shots. Paul McCartney selects the 5th shot for the cover & the rest is history.

If I took a film hasselbad up there, would the rays effect it?

Pretty chunky! Takes the same filters as my Hasselbad H lenses, but makes me feel like I entered the 21st century!

I did learn to handle cameras as my uncle was a professional working for Nat Geo, World Wildlife, etc.
My first was a 35mm Fuji, later his Hasselbad, then I purchased the above named cameras. I have an affinity for film vs the doggies.
I also have a number of Tamrons I don’t want to let go.

Phones with 200 mp wide lenses, 50 mp on 4 other lenses and insane color science from either leica or hasselbad.

Phones have come a long way in the last 3 years. I spent time with so many of them (even bought myself one) and its been a joy.

They are really really good for everything daily.
