It (along with hatecrew) was among a handful of albums that acted as my gateway to heavier music and that I discovered at the same time, with Cannibal's "Kill", Symbolic, Onset of Putrefaction, Chaosphere, and a couple others. I go back to others more often but Follow the Reaper is still special

I went there to intern with Anssi Kippo actually! He was 2nd degree friends on Facebook at the time and that’s where I contacted him. He was Children of Bodom’s producer from their first demos all the way to Hatecrew Deathroll

Marty definitely showcases some tasty licks on that track. Alexi even borrowed one of them for his Hatecrew Deathroll solo and I love it.

Es war letztlich die Band, die mich zum MelodicDeath gebracht hat. Mich haben sie aber mit dem Streben nach Härte, um in Übersee anzukommen, verloren. Bin mit Hatecrew Deathroll ausgestiegen. Beste LP bleibt mMn Follow the Reaper. Ich mag die ersten 4 jedoch alle sehr.

"Dim Scene"
Fuck I forgot this particular performance of it rips.
It doesn't sound like any of these but think of this one as like "Rust in Peace", "And Justice for All", "Innervisions" by Stevie Wonder, "Hatecrew Death Roll" by CoB.
A masterpiece in relativity even if casual fans don't see it
