#1013 Hearth Shadow

Appalachian love
cabinsmoke in the mountains
our hearth shadow sleeps

Laying together
In front of the fire, the hearth
Shadows licking us.

We are made of both—
Light, like bright fire in a hearth
Shadow, our dark parts.
