I need to get more phase 24 packs but basically they help to moderate temperatures, so they work in conjunction with heat/cold packs and are good for adding extra heat or cooling without overdoing it. Also get REPTILE SAFE heatpacks, NOT HANDWARMERS

My body was not happy yesterday. She crashed hard and fast and needed a lot of painkillers + all of the heatpacks.
I'm glad my surgery is done but rn some days are fucking rough on the recovery front.

Just before the cold snap we ordered and distributed thousands of heatpacks. This way we have been able to keep warm the defenders at the front. Hand-, feet- and body heaters were distributed along the troops in all directions.

Our pilot experiment also showed how hard it can be to achieve the intended temperature manipulation in the field. Even a small detail like thermologger placement within the nestbox can change the apparent treatment effect dramatically, making both implementation and interpretation tricky.

I have accidentally become aware over the last couple of weeks that warming one's feet before bedtime can rapidly accelerate the journey to sleepiness and sleep. Two wheat heatpacks + feet = warm feet sandwich + amazing sleep soon after (ymmv)

Current status: comfy. It's been an extra awful few days but the heatpacks are for the bones (nerves still mostly good. Yay!). The bones are the least of it though and I have literally been crying with small breaks to talk to people and pretend I'm a functioning human. 🤷♀️ I can't even go into it all.
