I hope you're right. I think it could be that for sure in which case the external polls are likely correct. The candidate internals aren't quite so hopeful, but they could be hedging. Also a few more weeks of high prices/bad press to keep pressure on so 🤞🏼

Add to this that hedging locks in the current forward curve which is probably adverse right now for current hedging. So all in all, hedging is, for the broad economy of limited use.

There’s a limit to the amount of hedging that can be done (I was a derivatives trader, including briefly commodities). There’s a deep market but not that deep. And the hedging can only reach so far forward in time, meaning that we can get a respite, but not full, permanent insulation from shocks.

Hedging on Article 5 while Beijing probes Taiwan and Putin rearms isnt restraint, its an invitation. Spheres of influence dont return by accident, they get handed over by allies who flinch first.

Oh absolutely and I include Georgia in this as well (like Gwinnett/Dekalb/Athens have to provide Spanish ballots by law and Gwinnett has voter guides in Korean, Vietnamese, Mandarin & Cantonese)

Used to work for a UK research lab that had a considerable income in Euros due to one experiment there, and every few years someone in management would suggest trying to do something clever with currency hedging and everyone else would have to sit on them until the idea went away.
