There are downsides to the US being the worlds policeman. But in a case like this the US wld normally be convening other powers to help deescalate the situation btw India and Pakistan. Is anyone in Washington even paying attention? Vance I think just said the US doesn’t care.

As a passive beneficiary of US hegemony my life will be more difficult if it ends, but we seem determined to go in that direction, so
I guess the danger for USA is the same as what happened to UK after the idiocy of Brexit; the rest of Europe adapted and moved on. UK economy still struggling and politicians of major parties afraid to admit it.

The war reflects the decline of US global hegemony, not its strength. Trumpism is a response to this decline, attempting to reassert dominance through militarism and coercion.
