A bit more lovely geology from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in #Iceland from 4 years ago - this is Hellnar beach - quite a magical little place (and remarkably hard to photograph!).
Long exposure shot of Hellnar beach, where huge stones lie on the beach and some weird jagged rock juts up around the little bay. The overall colour of the photo is brown with the water appearing a little golden.

As a result of being stuck in my cabin in Hellnar #Iceland an extra day I got to see a little glimpse of the northern lights! There was so much cloud around, and a nearly-full waning moon, but at least I saw something :)

Lovely morning along the rugged coastline here at Hellnar. Last full day, going to miss this place! FYI this is a 0.8 second exposure.

Here's some nice waves against the obsidian rocky coastline at Hellnar in the Snæfellsnes Peninsula of #Iceland in Feb 2025.
A few shiny dark rocks (obsidian, volcanic) have waves moving around them, all caught in sunrise light. Slightly long exposure.
