okay okay yeah I ACTUALLY got it now. it's 6/8 and the complicated parts are just the wildest fucking hemiola I've ever heard lol. If you're counting in 8th notes (i.e. following the guitar) it alternates between two sets of six notes (12 beats) and three sets of four notes (12 beats)

As the funny novelty Eminem lead single it was read as it was clearly a failure. As a piece of music in and of itself it's one of my favourites. It's rhythmically bonkers (an advanced version of the straight-over-swing hemiola on My Name Is) and he sounds lascivious as fuck doing the medical jargon

Also Hemiola was a great label. Thinking Fellers Union Local 282, Unrest, UI, Kenny Process Team, Eggs, Uncle Wiggly...A short run of very interesting records. Justine Wolfenden ran it and she really had her finger on the pulse.
