Delightful. I used an Herbsaint spritz in the glass instead of 2 dashes of absinthe.

Spooktober Friday Night Cocktails

The Obituary

Sometimes also called a 'New Orleans Martini' this classic cocktail adds a touch of absinthe (or Herbsaint) to mix. Makes for a lovely libation 🍸

OMG I love it. I think it's bc it's not cold here. It used to fuck with me hard back home.
PS I drove a bartender from Pêche today and we were gossiping. She was like fuck Herbsaint having every Sunday off.🤣🤣🤣Pretty much what we said when we worked at Pêche.

Got in to New Orleans too late last night for a proper meal, so got a tasty sandwich from Cochon Butcher. Today's lunch was at Peche, which was stellar, as always. I also discovered that the watermelon gazpacho is back on the menu at Herbsaint, so I have that to look forward to.

My New Orleans people: what all should John do while in the city? I suggested Gabrielle for a great meal. Also Herbsaint, where @sweetbabette.bsky.social does her thing.
Going to New Orleans for a few days pretty soon. Hope to: eat, drink, hear music, see things like art and history, day trip out of the city.

What would it be a CRIME to miss?
What MUST we experience?
Specifics encouraged!

Trains from Paris to Angoulême only two and a half hours. I ought to go play Herbsaint Sazerac one of these days

Having a Sazerac - rye whiskey, "hint of" herbsaint, bitters , sugar & lemon twist - YUM!

Dinner at Herbsaint in New Orleans. Gumbo, fried green tomatoes with shrimp, spaghetti with a fried soft boiled egg, blueberry hand pies. Vieux carre not pictured. Perfection. #NOLA

Looking for birthday restaurant recs in New Orleans. Current favorite is Herbsaint but would love more suggestions.

I keep some Herbsaint in a little spray bottle precisely for making Sazeracs. One spritz is just perfect to coat the glass. It’s just the best cocktail

Oh man, if you haven’t had a sazerac, you must! One of America’s greatest cocktails! It’s classic New Orleans in a glass.

Bourbon or rye, Peychaud bitters, sugar cube, with a little rinse of absinthe or Herbsaint. Subbing cognac in for the whiskey was a deliciously fancy touch!

Which restaurant is Herbsaint, I found myself musing while sitting for a Wednesday night dinner. Is it the one serving the thick gumbo that takes you back to chef Donald

Herbsaint restaurant is known for a blend of Italian, French and Louisiana dishes. A tasting dinner inspired by its chefs' recent travels revealed a new interest they're exploring, and you can sample tastes on the latest specials.

i’m actually seeing a friend this weekend to prep for the churn of AAR next weekend. but i will ask her about herbsaint! thanks.

herbstura is 1:1 herbsaint and angostura! used in a lot of don beachcomber recipes
