The new D&D starter set box arrived today! The art looks amazing, and some of the elements are things I could use even with experienced players in my games. Lots of cool stuff in it!

Thoughts re: making Heroes of the Borderlands better:

Why are all these caves so close together? It seems counterintuitive. But with some of them obviously being interconnected, then I'm wondering if there is a megadungeon underneath.

More thoughts on #HeroesoftheBorderlands

As I've been playing for nearly 40 years I was frustrated by "pull a card from the Magic Items deck" and there was no table to roll or pick from.

I know why they did the cards, but it would be nice to have both.

Tässä jaksossa Luolamestarit avaavat Dungeons & Dragonsin massiivisen uuden aloituslaatikon: Heroes of the Borderlands. Onko kyseessä enää perinteinen roolipeli, vai ollaanko menty jo lautapelien puolelle?

Yesterday I ran Heroes of the Borderlands for the first time, with a group of new(ish) players and while the net outcome was positive, it was a bit of a struggle.

Read along for a few (helpful, I hope) tips!

Made my wizard for the #DnD Starter Set #HeroesoftheBorderlands (and also made her into a species card!)
Her name is Huette
An orc with short brown hair, a purple cloak and blue vest, stumbles and drops her various books. The orc has green skin, glasses, and stands in front of a filled book case. Dungeons & Dragons' new 'Heroes of the Borderlands' is the most accessible version yet, packed with cards, tokens, and maps.

It simplifies gameplay for newcomers, making it easier to dive into the adventure.

A game-changer for new players!

I've been reading #HeroesoftheBorderlands and comparing it to the original module and, surprisingly, there are so many things I like more.
But sadly it doesn't work because what #D&D is and what it wants to be are two things completely incompatible.

Ran my son, nephew, and a family friend's kiddo through the first part of the new #DnD #HeroesOfTheBorderlands starter set adventure; now have three new #TTRPG fanatics! They loved it. Gonna take them on further adventures, soon!

They ran a dragonborn paladin, high elf ranger, and dwarf wizard

Pues es muy tentador porque me gusta mucho la aventura original, pero es de esperar a ver si sale traducido y como.
