Seeing Anakin Skywalker as a hero is actually a valid reading of the text. It’s just contradictory to other, wider explorations of morality and heroism in Star Wars.

"People just have different definitions of heroism and goodness", no, shut up Loukas, the age of nuance died a few years ago already.
I used to think it was nonsense that Sam wondered whether Gollum thought he was the hero or the villain. Surely everyone wants to be the hero, I thought.

And then you see fascists openly saying yes, we want to be the bad guy, yes we hate goodness.

One of the reviews I read of TNG was that Star Trek is in essence was intended to be “philosophical heroism”, it’s about the heroism of choices, and that’s why the films are a mistake because films require action jeopardy & spectacle which doesn’t fit the concept.

Brian Phillips's Grantland review of Star Trek: TNG observed that: "Many, many episodes turn on the decidedly nonstandard TV plot of something has gone wrong with a diplomat."

A series that celebrated the heroism of government bureaucrats trying their best to do the right thing.

TRUE HEROISM 🤗💙😘
This man was dead weight, hanging high above the ground after touching a high-voltage line.

His coworker climbed up, held him in place, gave him mouth-to-mouth.

Randall Champion survived—and lived another 35 years.

Rocco Morabito’s photo, “The Kiss of Life,” won the Pulitzer Prize.

True heroism.

“history isn't singular acts of revolutionary heroism, that's just how we tell the stories. It's mostly people taking care of what's in front of them, never to be sung about.”
