that's not remotely the problem with them tbh, the problem with them is that they're written by straight women who think heterofatalism is feminism. and in this case the author adds in the rape that wasn't even there.

Like it’s not like the women these pieces are about aren’t dating and getting laid; their frustration seems to be that they can’t land a fairy tale ending. But that’s not heterofatalism, that’s just human relationships being hard.

Heterofatalism massively permeates this genre: the women are all losers, unsatisfied in love, and anyway the men they meet are gross or they straight up stalk some guy who doesn't like them back.
