I’m freaking out.

I spent quite a bit of time playing a PS5 game (borderlands 4). For several months. And over the last week, I’ve been crocheting up a storm on a hexagranny cardigan.

This morning, my right hand was numb. One of the 2 hands I had fixed with carpal tunnel surgery 10 years ago.

I started making a hexagranny cardigan. I love how it already looks like half a cardigan. Just a very small one. This is my latest crochet project (Don't look at my list of WIPs). I'm using Toni Lipsey's method.

I'm transgressing just a bit with this week's #ShowMeYourKnits, but it's fresh off the hook and otherwise fits the cardigan brief: my second HexaGranny Cardigan, this time worked in a heavier weight yarn. As a self-identified knitter, crocheting a sweater is a big deal for me. More in ALT text.

Dr. G's Memory Vest by Kirsten Kapur is a cabled vest with a classic look that is really pleasant to make. Each was knit with a single hank of Briar Rose Fibers Charity. This all-over cabled sweater is a favorite of mine to make and wear, as it looks great and makes for a warm layer. The way the seaming came together was really satisfying. Saven by Meghan Babin. The grey version in Cascade 220 is great, but the brown one in Seacolors Yarnery wool is wonderfully insulating due to the woolen spun yarn. Jared Flood's Timberline: I knit the green cabled cardigan with its epic shawl collar, only to find it anywhere little big for me. My partner was happy to claim it, and I loved seeing it on him. I knit a second one for myself a bit smaller, but with only two matching hanks of Briar Rose Fibers Charity I needed a bit more - so I got a third hank in a colorway that was intentionally related but different and worked a fade near the shoulders. I found the dramatic cables particularly easy to follow, keeping the knitting moving along. I couldn't leave out my HexaGranny Cardigan by Toni Lipsey, crocheted in Briar Rose Fibers Charity (orange) and Abundance (green). The finish of crocheted ribbing continues to delight me.

I don't review yarns, but if you are looking for a yarn to substitute for wool, maybe you have a wool allergy or just want something easily washed, I recommend Sirdar Jewelspun. At around $25 for 200 grams it is relatively affordable, comes in great colours and is nice to work with.

The ribbing is what I fell in love with! Such a rewarding texture. I guess I made my peace with it during the button band on my HexaGranny Cardigan. I hope you figure out how to get comfy with it!
