In recent years I had a good run with a couple friends in a home brew campaign world that contained all kinds of modules, dolmenwood stuff, HighFell stuff, a Cubeworld module and finally a long excursion in Xyntallin until parenting killed the time slot.

Hey, does anybody know if pro Langley Hyde, who wrote Highfell Grimoires, is fannish? It doesn't read as serial numbers filed...

#fridayreads Finished The Obituary Writer, Porter Shreve; reading Highfell Grimoires, Langley Hyde.Kinda *makes "eh" hand gesture* abt both.

Fantasy authors loooooooove their maps. I spend way too much time trying to figure out where shit is, flipping through pages so fast I get ptsd remember scrambling for the answer key in my geometry textbook. This woman said HIGHLANDS, NAY, HIGHFELL. AND LOWFELL! UHHH BORDERLANDS. AND UH, SOUTHLAND.

For those looking for some #OSR inspired settings

Dickens-tinged fantasy set in a flying school hiding magical secrets. Published in 2014, if published now it'd be labelled both dark academia & romantasy: it's a well-written, engaging, gay example of both before they were publishing trends. ($2 ebook alert)

Was canvassing for Lab last week in Gateshead Highfell (after a Reform cllr resigned after 11 days). Couple of people on the doorstep were at great pains to tell me their England flags were for the football & nothing else

Interesting to see the Iron Wolf there. Egil died during the Wraght of Magnus events, and the next two successors died as well, one in Cadia (Orven Highfell) and the next one at some point in the present (Vorek Gnarlfist). The actual Wolf Lord (Torval Wyrdbane) changed the sigil of the Great Company
