#higraph progress! The text names of items now opens in an in-picture editor as you create the item, and for nodes and blobs, can be moved! This is the last major thing before MVP!

And it's up! The first public release of #higraph is now available!
There is only a Windows installer at present. But it only has 1 dependency (#PySide6), and there are (hopefully clear!) build instructions on the home page of the repo!

And it's up! The first public release of #higraph is now available!
There is only a Windows installer at present. But it only has 1 dependency (#PySide6), and there are (hopefully clear!) build instructions on the home page of the repo!

A #higraph milestone: Blobs (nodes as sets) now work! Grab a 'parent' blob, and all the children move. Edges connect anywhere on the blob, and default to be orthogonal to the point of contact. graphML read and write working.
Now on to proper hyperedges!

@MrBerard have you looked at freeplane for project management? It's what I use for the pm kof higraph. A mindmap, but with a calendar, cross linking, and various plug-ins. Even supports formulae.

I sketched out the last stretch of #postproduction for my Year9's movies today.
I asked if the handwritten process was clear enough - and was very politely told "its a bit confusing".
So I turned it into a #higraph process model. This met with approval from the class.

The original Cognitive Load Theory paper, with (hopefully) no spurious additions!
It doesn't replace reading the paper carefully, but gives a map to navigate it.

@MrBerard Update: So I did the obvious - try to create a "higraph" like thing ("group Node" in yEd.
tl;dr: Don't. It has a bunch of non-intuitive options (open, closed). Dropping an ordinary node inside one doesn't have any effect - just falls through.
And the saving format is yEd's spec, not […]
