In my comic, I’ve assigned official both a functional office and a court dignity, adhering to the Byzantine dual-track system. Here, an Epoptes of the Genikon (Office) with the dignity of Spatharokandidatos. #byzantine #historicalcomic #indiecomic #byzantine-inspired

Be Ready So You Don’t Have to Get Ready: James Roach on His Most Personal Comic Yet with Chris McAuley
There’s a certain kind of buzz you get when a creator is clearly firing on all cylinders. Starting from this episode, I will be drawing the Gold Crossbow Fibula on the cloaks of Leo and Nikolaos in my Byzantine-inspired comic. The design is based on the actual artifact from The Met Museum (reference image on the right). #byzantine #indiecomic #historicalcomic #webtoon

Finally finished a formal design for the second lead's outfit in my comic! I included a crossbow-shaped fibula and klibanion. I’ve also officially set the third lead's court title as Spatharokandidatos. #byzantine #byzantine-inspired #indiecomic #historicalcomic

I don't know what the charioteers' usual training was like, nor where they trained. Information regarding the daily life of Byzantine common people is relatively difficult to find. #byzantine #byzantineculture #byzantine-inspired #indiecomic #webtoon #historicalcomic
