Mr. Pibb is actually named after an old slang term, pibs, short for Piss Dibs. This is bc in old times ppl waiting in line for the toilet would place a can of sody pop on the ground, calling pibs.

TAB got its name from a similar tradition involving sody pop tabs. The practice died out.

Hope we can turn back time with this one!

The Hotel Carrolina (named by Julian Carr) was Durham's first luxury hotel, built in 1891 in the Queen Anne Victorian style 👑

One fire and a century later... a city parking lot sits where the Carrolina once stood.

Random historyfact about Mahabaleshwar: the bell of the main temple is a church-bell taken as a war trophy during the 1700s Maratha conquest of Bassein (Portuguese Vasai.) It even has a little Portuguese cross and the phrase AVE MARIA embossed (cast?) into its surface.
