My #HeatedRivalry takes:
*Hollandov are good actors and very hot & I like watching them pretend to have sex
*Hollandov actors are definitely straight which feels a bit icky / gay-bait-y
* Scott clocked Shane + Ilya immediately
* Kip’s dad = national treasure
* I prefer the SKip storyline tbh

A snipped from Ellipsus:
He walks out into a dirty backstreet and there he is.
Ilya is smoking a cigarette, his eyes already on Shane. His face says nothing. Shane breathes out.
"Hi."
Ilya grunts in answer. Shane moves to stand by him and rests his back against the wall. It's a bit too cold to run out without a jacket but it doesn't seem to bother Ilya. That checks out.
"I… only learned about what happened to your mother lately…"
Ilya stiffens.
"And I'm guessing that you know what my job is."
Ilya barks out a laugh. There's nothing funny about any of that.
"Your job… Your job is killing me."
"No-"
"Da. Your job is killing monsters. I am a monster."
"Ilya, no, you're not-"
His eyes flash gold. Teeth sharpen. Veins on his neck and arms darken.
Shane's breath gets stuck in his throat.
Ilya sends him a mean smile. He's towering over Shane, his eyes still shining. He gave him a proof. Now what?

Also, if you do want to read more of the books, I recommend reading heated rivalry first (book #2) and then game changer (book #1). The rest are diff characters and you can skip them if you want, but book #6 is a continuation of Hollandov

Y'ALL. OMG. #heatedrivalry s1e5 is INSANE. Jacob Tierney and Rachel Reid are FUCKING GENIUSES for bringing this story to life on screen and on paper. THE FIRST NHL PLAYER TO COME OUT WILL HAVE THE MOST INSANE FAN CLUB.
