Does anyone want a homoglyph/hotkey tutorial?

Get familiar with homoglyphs and hotkeys.
The word аbоrtіоn appears twice in this post, or does it?

Great question! Punycode is a representation of Unicode with the limited ASCII character subset used for Internet hostnames.
I turn this off in our browsers at work to avoid homoglyph attacks.

I just learned the word "homoglyph", for a character/letter which looks identical to another one but has a different meaning, and I am just *delighted.* (i.e., I and l, or Cyrillic letters which look like Roman letters but are different).
Fun! And so tricksy!

The ん Japanese hiragana character: recently used in Booking[.]com phishing campaigns as a "Punycode" Unicode lookalike symbol for forward slashes in URL links! Homoglyph attack that makes us curious what, if any, other lookalike characters do the same: youtu.be/nxVr4ERhrPQ

As well as like, routinely checking like Shodan and homoglyph domains you should probably be checking your online reviews from employees. Because I do, and adversaries do.

WotD: "homoglyph attack", where "attackers exploit visually similar characters to deceive users or systems". Example: a link to rnarriott [dot com] instead of marriott [dot com]; the first leads to an exploit. Another homoglyph is 0 (zero) for O.
