25 Years ago today(!)
I played my first-ever ‘solo’ gig in NYC in the back room of the old Sidewalk Café. Solo, except that I was joined by my new self-made band mates The Hornicator and the Cadillac Beatspinner Wheel. Time flies #kineticart #drummachine

One of the most important elements of touring are Services stops. (This one looking somewhat post-apocalyptic, no?) Horni gets excited whenever there’s a Game Zone at any particular stop, but because of the potential delays this can cause in our routing, it is seldom allowed.

My first-ever BBC radio live session was at Maida Vale in 2005 (for Radio 1 with Huw Stephens + some other one-man-bands) What a privilege having been able to do my thing in there. Sad to see it go, it’s too often that you don’t appreciate what you’ve got ’til it’s gone.

Musically he's like a less raspy, more upbeat Tom Waits with lots of clever lyrics and hidden meanings to his songs. He also invents his own instruments, including the Hornicator, which sounds like the noise your TV would make at 3am if you threw Gabriel's trumpet down the well from The Ring

It's a farewell gig because of immigration rules btw: Truax is being sent back to his native USA, to make way for British hornicator-makers?

When @thomastruax twangs the springy coil at the bottom of the Hornicator, it makes the same noise as the DLR track when a train approaches.
