Loss of power especially when that power is lost to someone they viewed as beneath them. When the victim wields the weapon of their destruction, all hell breaks loose. Love it.
This one is a little easier. No archetypes!

In one case, it's a strong suggestion. One character is meant to feel one way about another character. Is it against the will of the character? Would the character have felt this way regardless? It throws a what if into every interaction.
The shards grip your hand.
What is your favourite function of imprisonment in horror? Does it twist a character’s ideals? Is it a pit of their worst nightmares? Or something else?

One short was more supernatural horror, and the graphic novel I'm writing is horror with fantasy elements.

I'm Lee, a UK expat in Sweden, writing dark horror stories - currently one about a guy who can't control his innate talent for accidentally killing people - I first got into horror aged 7, viewing Halloween on VHS for the first time and shitting myself the rest of the week.
Introduce yourself: tell us who you are, what you write, and tell us about the first time you got into horror.

Two for my urban fantasy project. There's the MCs father who died tragically and shapes a lot of their arc and future. And then there's the girl the MC tries to save, falls off a bridge and haunts her until she's avenged. :D
Tell us about a character in your story who is no longer alive. Did their demise have any impact on the plot? Were they related to other characters? Bonus points if they're still around causing trouble as a zombie or ghost!

I'm not a perfect person, or even approaching it. I'm a "good" person most of the time. But I'm always financially poor. I make comics for fuck's sake.

Can't say fairer than that. Hi #HorrorWritersChat, let's talk riches. Or poverty. Moral or cash, I don't mind which.
Horror is one of the more egalitarian genres I think. More room for poor...
No links please.

Also, my only work machine died (I’m on my iPad) so if you could spare a few dollars, that’d be neat;

Hello! I'm Gree! Writer of body, psychological, and religious horror for my Bloodied Rose: Verses of Midnight setting!
Unfortunately, I don't know. I've reached a burnout phase with my flagship book, Land of Gold. We will see.

Recently wrote a scene about ghost-hunting on a small sailboat; the ghost, it seems, may not be on the boat but in the water itself.

I havent used inheritance in my writing
unless its a more general sense of generations inheriting the previous generations' horrors like my cyberpunk dystopia.
I am a sucker for cursed media though and love stories of found, inherited, etc books, vhs, film that causes horrors
He is splayed on the table in front of me, surrounded by people of oily shadows.
Inheritance in horror is often a dreadful secret. What do you use, or would use, in your writing? A crime? An accursed bloodline? Something far worse?
