Misty the cat says: "I wonder if I can sell that hose reel on eBay."

The retract mechanism on this one is spring-driven, not motor-assisted. That distinction matters — fewer parts, nothing to burn out. Clean engineering. #GiraffeTools #HoseReel s.thefeatherleafaffiliate.com/EuzfFP

It wouldn't be so bad if you could keep it out of the way when not in use, with a hosereel type device, say, or a system of folds and pleats.

Time to install this Giraffe ground mounted garden hose reel. The old one we had was falling apart and this one is a huge upgrade.

Enjoy a video about how to put your hose reel together.

also I couldn’t figure out why the bit that goes from the reel to the wall is so short, which is why I watched the video, but I guess they just didn‘t choose to include a hose a length that‘d make a hosereel USEFUL in the package.

The cord doesn't bunch up sideways on the drum. It layers evenly every time. That's the one thing I always watch for. Never fixed it on cheaper reels. This one does it right.

The auto-rewind on this thing doesn't snap back and tangle. It pulls steady, controlled. That one detail alone sold me.
