ALT: two men in a car with the words " it 's friggin ' huge " above them

Ok, so I have two layers - a data repository, and a contributed layer. I want to copy the "contributed" features into the final data repo, however my contributor has misnamed the attributs. So my repo has attributes ... let's say, "Name", "Size" and "Color". The contributed layer has attributes "theName", "HowBig" and "Colour". This is a toy example to illustrate the problem, indeed. Obviously, Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V is not going to work in a very satisfactory way, as I will get my new features attribute-free (the names do not match columns of the target layer). Equally obviously, I can rename the fields from the source layer before doing the ctrl+C/ctrl+V. However - it would be nicer to have an interface allowing me to select the matching field. Something along the lines of INSERT into target ("Name", "Size", "Color") select ("theName", "HowBig", "Colour") from source .. in pseudo-SQL. Or a graphic interface allowing me to match the fields. Or even better, something that allows to do type casting, if needed: INSERT into target ("Name", "Size", "Color") select ("theName", CAST("HowBig" AS Real), "Colour") from source Are you aware of an easy way to do that, such as an option I missed, an algorithm from the provider, a plugin, etc. ?
