As HSI and MPD started to pack it up, residents told them, “we don’t think you’re good Americans” and “fuck you guys, go home.”

I don’t understand how ICE, FBI and everyone else don’t refuse to follow inhumane and illegal orders. I assume they are part of the problem. History will judge them for their behavior and crimes. The law applies to everyone in USA soil…everyone!

ICE is actually two agencies: ERO just deports people, HSI does some immigration stuff but also actual police work on stuff like customs evasion, IP theft, gun smuggling, etc. HSI hates ERO, thinks they’re violent morons, and actively wants to be a separate agency.
right, this is the thing, ICE officers are despised and held in contempt *even within law enforcement* and those are the guys they're going to have to send to portland or chicago or los angeles to actually give the orders
ICE has been hiring the least persuasive, least sympathetic, and most provocative officers of any federal agency, for decades. Some of this is Trump fueled, but Homan is talking more like “ICE unleashed”. Not to say that they will succeed, but Homan here is expressing median ICE officer opinions
