something they don't prepare you for as an LA homeowner is the sheer number of construction/plumbing/hvac/etc companies that are owned by israelis

These buildings do not have the infrastructure to hold this many people. They are not built for this. From plumbing to HVAC to electrical. This is going to be a humanitarian disaster. One must assume it's intentional. They have no plans for sewage, showers, clean water, or even basic food.

unless someone legitimately interested in trades work feels some particular calling (or more realistically, has a personal in to something), I always tell folks to look at electrical/plumbing/HVAC. somewhat easier on your body and better compensated than other options.

I often think about how America embraced mass suburbanization right at the moment when technologies like indoor plumbing, modern HVAC, antibiotics, and fireproof steel and concrete construction finally made urban life decent and tolerable.

I’m happy to have a house, & I like our particular house. But if I could do it over I wouldn’t buy a house from the only owners (1968-2022) & who thought they knew how to do plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, how to design kitchens & install appliances, etc, but actually did _everything_ wrong.

like, welding and hvac and plumbing and advanced manufacturing and wastewater operations and sanitation and assembly are all extremely different industries and careers, it'd be stupid as shit to think you could put all of them under a single program umbrella

My daughter is about to finish trade school in HVAC, meaning she will be certified in welding, plumbing and electrical. She’ll then choose one for licensing. Oh! And she is LGBTQ.
