If nothing else, Kyocera opal chip & HXTAL resin will make a banger piece.

How it's going. Chip patched & cured. Other 2 stones pried out, cleaned of epoxy, and reglued with a glass-grade resin. Vacuum-chambered whole cuff with same resin, to help seal remaining stones. Hand-ground & polished. Not all corrosion gone, not taking more silver.

I'm heading out for travel in the next week, so no hurry.

I'd say *don't* clean the enamel charms. I'll give them a basic isopropyl cleanup when I put them under a scope to flood the enamel tops with HXTAL epoxy. Stuff is glass-hard & takes 7 to cure. And I will have 38 of them to fix, haha.

Learned how repair broken glass with HXTAL epoxy. HXTAL is used by museum curators to repair broken pottery and by glass studios to repair breaks in glass fixtures, to adhere glass in sculptures and to put things back together in an invisible, long lasting/strong manner. Very strong seamless repair.

Created this beautiful Red-Orange-Lavender weave for my daughter's house entry way. It looks amazing mounted on the wall with the hall light spotlighting the piece

Mounted using French Cleats that were adhered to the glass with HXTAL

4/ Ametrine! Probably heat treated. Rich purple at top, smoky amber-brown at bottom. Has some fractures I'm wary of. If I set it, I'll first grind out and polish chipped areas. Stabilize the suspected deeper fractures with water-clear HXTAL epoxy. Then make a bezel-and-hoop arrangement with big...

Whatever I inlay it on, has to go on a vice (maybe 2) in a cleanbox out in the garage, on a stable surface, and then I don't look at it for a week.

This goes with the best (slow cure) inlay resin I have ever used: HXTAL.

I get from Milkweed Arts. It's tricky because it doesn't set *at all* for 2 to 3 days. And by 7 days it's crystalline hard.

Perhaps someone skilled in using HXTAL epoxy could repair it?

That is a wrap! Five days of Corallite creations with Nikki O’Neill at Weisser Glass Studio. Took me back to chem 101 - Better life with chemistry and physics! Lots of valuable information about fusing with powdered frit and lessons in kiln workings. Totally loved this class!

Hey @nora.zone - hypothetically, would you use Hxtal for this? Or a different 2-part epoxy? I know just enough about glass to know that reheating it is unlikely to have good results. (But I could be wrong!)
Do I know anyone (DC area) who can repair a glass trifle dish? The base separated from the bowl.

Anybody know anyone at the glassblowing studios who might be able to help?

It was my grandma’s, so big sentimental value.

The last step!

I use conservation grade adhesive, HXTAL, to secure my glass to the bezel cups. Since what I do can lead to traditional setting challenges, I use HXTAL to make sure the glass stays put.
