#hydropot
I've just discovered the word 'hydropot', meaning someone who only drinks water, as opposed to alcoholic drinks. Quite a nice one. Appears to date back to the 1700s.

#HydroPot update
Moved jerrgget one more time. I'll need to wait a bit. He is wilting but not because of the lack of water, I checked. Might just be transplant shock. Will need to need a few more days to see how it goes.

#HydroPot Part 0/2
Meet my new test subjects: Jeremy the Fitonia, Gerald Ivy and Venso the abandoned Fitonia! They will help me with the development of my project which I was working on forever and decided to finalize. I just need to wait until they grow a bit up.

#HydroPot Part 0/3
We've got soil, we've got expanded clay, we've got this weird cloth for plants. We've got fertilizer (it's somewhere I forget where). We have got *everything* we need. Time to start doin' the actual project!

#HydroPot update
Now I'm at a loss. Idk what is happening and why this plant won't grow. It's a Fittonia sp. and I know it needs a lot of water but I has it. Idk i put it's roots closer to the ropes, right on them this time! Ok. We will see

#HydroPot other plant (Dorothy 2) seems to be doing just fine. No abnormal coloration or stunted growth. Leaves are well and plump. First success. Will keep monitoring.
PS: Dorothy 1 is also doing great.

#HydroPot Update 1
Vengget (Venso nugget) is not doing too hot :c
January 14, 2025 at 12:29 PM
#HydroPot Part 2:
Venso is the one to be my first test subject. I cut part of him and added him to the pot. The date is 13.01.25, we will see how it goes. Also, I added just a bit of fertilized to the water, since expanded clay doesn't contain any nutrients.

#HydroPot Part 1/4: Stencil and methodology
Stencil is for making a net on the bottom of the top container, it purposefully has too many holes so you can water it just like a normal pot. They aid also in air circulation which is a major part of this project.

#HydroPot update
New day, new experiment. I made 2 60 mm Hydro pots so I can run more tests. Also the Vengget seems dead so we can conclude that. After I've eaten I'll write more but rn enjoy the images. Also write your thoughts down in the comments, I <3 feedback!

#HydroPot update! I have modified the 100mm pot a bit. I removed 6 ropes from it because I suspect that poor plant performance was because of lack of air circulation. Too much water getting up. We will see how it goes uwu

#HydroPot
Part 2 ad.
I used this fertilizer. Also make sure to compact a bit the substrate you're using so it can go under the mesh of rope and contact with the bottom of the top container. It aids in structural integrity of the substrate.

#HydroPot Part 1/5: Assembly
The bottom container is for water. The top one holds ropes, "artificial roots", for the plants. There is a seal made of gardener's cloth in the top to stop the substrate form falling. The seal is cut using the stencil and a scalpel.

#HydroPot Dorothy 1 seems to still suffer from stem rot. I don't think she will make it. Will keep monitoring.

#HydroPot Part 1/8: Preparing expanded clay
Firstly, get a bit of it in a bowl. Fill it with water until it floats. Collect the ones on the surface and remove the water and sunken ones. Repeat 1-2 times and it is ready.

#HydroPot jerrgget is dying! Nuuuuü
I think I know why tho. It might be oxygen starvation. I'll pull out a few ropes and see if it will help my boy

#HydroPot Part 0:
So a few days ago I bought myself a plant, a Fitonia, the one in the middle, his name is Jeremy. When I was in Auchan today I had a brainwave and bought two more... I think I have an auction to *plant*.
Anyway I need name ideas for those two pretties. Name ideas? :3

#HydroPot Part 1/1: First Prototype (kinda):
So I got to work. I've already made a first protype of the pot. Kinda first since this is a successor of my Hydroponic Pot Project which started 3 years ago and worked on for almost 2 years.

I'm done with my deliveries that means all my projects are back in action! The test I did with earth in my pot is going perfectly! I have the solution yes! 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘩! Fianally i have done it! That means I can go into phase 2 of my reserch! Follow for more updates

#HydroPot Part 1/9: Final words
Some funny images I made :3. Also, I had a bit of a problem with leaking of water on the bottom container. Solved it with super-glue, but I'd appreciate advice on making the print more watertight. Cheers!

#HydroPot Part 1/6: Mods
I used expanded clay for this experiment. It is possible to use any kind of substrate be it neural or just soil. It will be the part of experimentation which one works best and if you can use anything.

#HydroPot Part 1/3: Prototype
I've already printed it. First one had too small holes for rope, so it was scraped but the second one was perfect.
It is a cylinder 10cm in diameter and ~13cm in height when assembled.
