N. I think it has something to do with optimization. When this comes from the seller side, everything starts looking the same (book covers, logos) while on the consumer side it means bespoke everything (playlists, hyper niche genres).

people are so desperate for actual design, the hyper capitalistic minimalism in logos has run it course and people demand alittle soul in their designs. i also love that 70s/80s style but i think what ppl r craving is just aome freaking soul in marketing again. no more sterile shapes with basic font

Companies like Porsche have Style Guides that show, in hyper specific detail, how their company assets (logos, font, colorways, etc) must look in marketing and branding.
In fact, you can just go to brand.porsche.com and look at their style guide for yourself. Anyone can. It's just there

working in/adjacent to print production also made me realize how important print-ready logos are. like i also dislike hyper-minimalist logos, but i cringe deeply seeing people be like "here's my BETTER logo redesign" and it's a 4-color, hyper-detailed logo that would be a nightmare to print.

None that have been developed specifically with hyper legibility in mind - but there are a bunch of ordinary, readable sans serif fonts in there (although the vast majority of the pack are display fonts better for logos and stuff than long form text)

These are all very hyper-modernist, sleek, ad-logo type designs. I can understand the appeal of their clean sharp clarity. I just find them instantly boring… like most logos.
