Primary hyperparathyroidism also markedly increases the risk of death. Which is cool because when I'm dead, I won't suffer from these symptoms.

Thankfully, the operation, now scheduled for 26 November, should help.

They also suggested it was in my head or my heart.
(How about arse or elbow?)

Funnily enough, my illness, primary hyperparathyroidism, affects more women than men and is most commonly diagnosed when patients are in their 50s.

It also shares certain symptoms associated with the menopause.

Maddening, especially when the high calcium caused by the hyperparathyroidism can cause mental health issues & when they should also know that the fatigue of chronic illness is nothing like not being 20 anymore. I hope the surgery is successful & everything returns to normal soon

I hope you get better soon. Not a pleasant experience.

As for me, I have a fairly common condition, primary hyperparathyroidism, that is often mismanaged by doctors and where a lot of gaslighting occurs.

A condition that ruins lives, can shorten them and is easily fixable via a simple operation.

So apparently eating crisps and drinking pop regularly increases the risk of CVE by 14%.

Meanwhile, my disease, Primary Hyperparathyroidism, increases the risk of death by 72% compared to people who don't have it.

And yet you have to FIGHT to get the operation which is the only way to cure it.

My husband had hyperparathyroidism years back and got very ill. It was around the same time that Gary Shandling died of it. As soon as they removed the two parathyroids that were enlarged he felt completely fine and could eat and think. It was a scary experience.

Yeeeeehhh, time to celebrate! 🎉🥳

A PTH blood test should help determine whether this is related to hyperparathyroidism.
