But also: you don't see a lot of people going into the hypothyroid forums and saying you're valid even without levothyroxine sodium.

✋ I can't consume idodized salt because of my hypothyroid/Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. What's funny is iodized salt is great for hyperthyroid.

For this and so many reasons, I believe I have been hypothyroid for too long.
Hypothyroidism and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) often coexist. Hypothyroidism slows metabolism and gastrointestinal motility, leading to constipation, bloating, and abdominal pain, which can mimic or trigger IBS symptoms.

IBS Flare and a Panic Attack | Emily Suess
I'm sipping probiotic tea after an IBS flare that hurt my abdomen significantly enough to launch me into another panic attack.

Been thinking about how to put this, cause I've never been good at explaining things. But aside from (fear regarding war) I've always struggled with memory. (hypothyroid n adhd) Unfortunately it's always made learning things rather hard for me, and jobs even harder.
Not gonna lie folks, been really eaten up with depression lately. I don't like to post mental health stuff much anymore, cause I fear pushing people away or being "too much". I barely have stamina rn, so I hope it returns soon.

Mom says there’s a history of hypOthyroid issues/hashimotos so the swallowing thing may be a red herring, will get checked for both on Thursday.
Bloating after eating, sudden accelerated weight gain, middle age onset, difficulty swallowing, difficulty achieving satiation, this is all sounding a lot like hyperthyroidism.

I started Ozempic in Feb 2023 after my annual checkup. I told my doctor I am dieting & riding my Peloton maniacally but I can’t lose weight. She said it’s age, my hypothyroid condition, stress, & lack of sleep. It’s not a matter of working harder or more. She prescribed Ozempic.

You don't need my bonus hormone unless you're hypothyroid. And it's only gender affirming in the sense that women are like nine times more likely to be hypothyroid

So you may wonder how I got fat. Through my 20s I effortlessly maintained at ~120 lbs. I got older & diagnosed w/ hypothyroid (causes weight gain) & hypertension. I noticed changes in my body. I didn’t worry about it. It didn’t occur to me to worry.

Then the pandemic happened.

Never will forget the doc who told me that I needed an aerobics program and a shrink.

When I was suffering from hypothyroid.

it turns out that if you have hypothyroid, it's a good idea to take thyroid medication

It has historically been taught that hypothyroidism can cause HMB. We published a retrospective review in J Peds (jpeds.com/article/S0022-…) of 427 adolescent females with HMB and actually found lower rates of hypothyroid than that seen in the general population!
