The AirPort card is pretty much for show, as AirPort WiFi cards this old can't talk to modern modems, but since the iBook was the first consumer laptop with WiFi hardware, it feels appropriate to install it.
I also secured the screen assembly even better than before. :)

After the initial SSD upgrade, I cracked open my blueberry iBook G3 again twice to fix some issues — to better fasten the screen assembly, and replace the DC-In board — but I just opened it a third time to free the antenna cable (it was pinned under the case) so it can reach the AirPort card.

I grew up primarily using Apple computers; our first family computer was a pre-OSX Power Macintosh and my first personal computer was a pre-Intel iBook G4. I say that just to say I have decades of experience with MacOS.

I JUST NOW learned you can hold Option for extra right-click menu items.

Next, a decent looking Dell Inspiron 1150 with an Intel Celeron. Charger included, and a bizarre Compaq Presario that I think is kinda ripping off the iBook G3? The blue parts are sticky old melty rubber.

When life gives you missing USB-C to ethernet dongles, you do what you gotta do.

When you gotta burn a CD but every other drive is being picky I whip out the iBook G4. Long live PowerPC.

I now have four iBooks: a 300 MHz Blueberry iBook, two 366 MHz Indigo FireWire iBooks, and a 500 MHz snow iBook.

I upgraded the iBook with a 256 MB RAM stick and a 32 GB Compact Flash card for an SSD, but it kept abruptly going to sleep — even when booting.
I opened it up today and replaced the DC-In and Charging boards, and now the iBook runs stable and doesn't randomly go to sleep anymore. :D

I just fixed an original Blueberry clamshell iBook G3!
I received the iBook in the mail yesterday, and it's in excellent condition, with very few cracks or scratches (and the Apple logo hasn't popped out of the lid, which is very common for clamshell iBooks).

I've never thought the so-called "Blueberry" iBook G3 had much of a blueberry-like colour. Since much of the marketing presented the iBook as "iMac to go" (we call it "takeaway" in Australia), I wonder why Apple didn't call this version of the iBook "Bondi Blue" to match the blue iMac G3.

For some reason, the program that I use to burn Dreamcast discs no longer works on my MacBook Pro, so I turned to my iBook G4 where it still runs like a champ. Old tech always comes in handy when you're in a fix.

A couple of minutes later and I had a burned CD ready for use with the Dreamcast. 🥳

first computer i remember using (there were a lot of them in the house) was a pretty-old-at-the-time SE/30 but the first one that was strictly /mine/ was a G3 ibook dual-usb.
