Saw another piece that noted the IAFF endorsed democrats for president every election in the past few decades except when women were the nominees. 🤔
Relatedly I loved this Politico trend piece. It’s based on 2 pieces of evidence: the Teamsters and the International Association of Fire Fighters — the latter it admits in the 30th para or so have had a GOP wing for decades and didn’t endorse anyone in 2016 either

30 year veteran of the fire service. Challenged with my third cancer since retirement. I have several buddies who are fighting cancer while still employed and some who never made it to retirement. The IAFF failed to endorse Kamala Harris, and this is what we got.

I worked with IAFF leaders and Senators Padilla & Schumer on my bipartisan Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act to support families of firefighters lost to service-related cancers.
I got it in this year’s defense bill and look forward to it becoming law.
