2016: However BBC2 are also recreating classic idents again, this time in HD - this one inspired by 1992's effort.

Do that version in ten years with a set of specials and a season of repeats from the last one hundred years linked with idents, fireworks and fanfares.
Today’s more sedate version was beautiful. Thank you all for keeping this treasure going.

Talking of Jeremy Issacs, it's very nearly Channel 4's 44th birthday (two days' time) and I'm wondering whether there's anything special planned for the occasion. Some old idents would be nice if nothing else. Nothing special mentioned in that day's channel listing www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5WR...

Sometimes the old-school way of going through 100 pages on Vimeo doesn't work, especially when I am looking for the more obscure idents

It's a terrible indictment of humans, but for almost everything anywhere for any reason, if something has gone wrong, it's a cock-up, not a conspiracy. Train crashes, wrong idents, buses hitting buildings, important interviewees not being heard, missing music cues, things exploding... just cock-ups.

I think the entire reason its not on there boils down to it being a wrapper for airing their theatrical cartoons on television, cartoons that are themselves already on D+
Disney probably doesnt internally view house of mouse as anything more than fancy network idents

Not something I've seen much examples of, an airing of a short fireworks safety film from the BBC in 1996 (rpt from 1992), but as its own slot with one of the BBC Two idents preceding it rather than during a continuity junction

This is labelled as Sorbus monbeigii Forrest 28390. Denizen of mossy Quercus-Rhododendron forest. But the herbarium specimens have been problematic, having been given a number of other idents. Never mind, these lipstick-pink fruits are stunning; most Forrest collections turn out to be fab plants 💚🌱
