So I’ve heard AI is being used to create full comic book pages now. I don’t think it will do a great job at it. Making comics is harder than some folks think, I’ve seen some terrific illustrators try their hand at it and fail miserably. There is so much more to it than pretty pictures. #idrawcomics

I am now 27 pages into this issue of Tiny Tots and I need to start wrapping up this issue soon in order for it to end where I need it to end. I am contemplating skipping to the last two pages to draw out what needs to happen. #idrawcomics #indiecomics

I mean what else would I bring before the break of dawn on while on vacation… I’m drawing comics of course!! I finished the pencils for one page while on the plane and started this page last night, it’s coming along nicely I think.

Guys this 2 spread is killing me! I'm not sure what made me think this was a better idea than a double page fight scene but here we are... the roughs are turning out ok but its definitely a challenge drawing this page.

So clip studio paint ex has this handy 3d export feature that is really helpful for seeing how your “reads”. It helps ensure you don’t lose anything to the fold and also you see how fluid your page turns are. #idrawcomics #indiecomic #comicbookartisproblems

This panel took more the better part of a day to draw… and I like how it turned out. I’m leaning heavily into the background/foreground elements to give sense not only of what’s happening but where it’s happening, I tried to add some dynamic elements to the foreground too. #idrawcomics #indiecomics

So I have this weird thing I do where I find an on this drawing and redraw it to see if if gotten any better as an artist. In this case it’s a drawing from 10 years ago… I think I have definitely gotten better.

I’ve started inks on issue 6 of Tiny Tots! This issue is a Lizzie solo story and while I know the this page doesn’t quite reflect it, this issue is going to the first issue where I’ve put a ton of work into the backgrounds. I’m really happy with how the pencils on this page turned out. I really tried to use the full bleed for the guy running away so a part of him is definitely cut off, my goal was to make it seem like he was running off page. #indiecomics #idrawcomics #smallpresscomic
