I finally got around to finishing FF7 rebirth. It truly did not need to go so fucking hard. The trials were gut-wrenching. I nearly skipped the Ifalna scene because it was so heartbreaking. The ending put some much needed "sweet" in a bitter-sweet send off. Honestly, fantastic job.

Jenova wasn't an ancient. Hojo thought it was and later realized his mistake. Ifalna and Aerith were true ancients.
Also, if Aerith was related to Jenova biologically it would have allowed Sephiroth to control her, which he has never been shown the ability to do.
