Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz until further notice, or "until the end of American interference in this region.” The IIRGC warned that any US "aggression" as a result of the closure would be responded to with "severity" and new bases in the region would be targeted.

The UK will list Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation, ministers have announced, in a major escalation of the diplomatic tensions with Tehran.
