Honestly, “tutorial guy who states the obvious but you can just shoot him in the head if you’re tired of him” isn’t a bad way to immersively integrate the concept.
As someone who has been dying for Prime 4 since they announced it, and as someone who mains as Samus in Smash, I hope she puts a blast through his skull and just gets to work.

My current bit of writing requires me to very carefully navigate the space between writing immersively about backpacking and accidentally writing the REI catalog.

Part of what makes trauma responses tricky to manage is they come on so f*cking quickly & immersively. It's super common to feel panic alongside whatever else is happening-- but a first step to realistically managing it is to breathe & remind yourself who, where, & when you are.

People talk a lot about how wacky Ace Combat is but simultaneously I don't think any other game has so immersively recreated the feeling of someone explaining board game rules to you while your attention drifts as much as the mission briefings do.

Having only recently watched much star trek, it's striking how much computers seem to mostly be used non-immersively and the immersive use cases are, while common practice, viewed pretty universally as involving a high risk of addiction and psychosis

Any sort of barrier that doesn't feel like it, immersively, should be a barrier
I straight prefer an invisible wall with generous area boundaries to "ankle-high crates your otherwise highly acrobatic parkour master would jump"
This is especially bad in like chase/trapped type things

Little tip for anyone who’s interested in using an immersion blender for their soups: count the number of bay leaves you put in beforehand so you know how many to take out before you blend immersively.

A short story from my family history. Contains swears.
My grandpa was in Germany in 1930-1933. He lived in and near Dresden. In 1933, when he left to return home, he dressed like a local and spoke with a Dresden accent (he'd learned German immersively), but he had an American passport.

MadS: 28 Days Later except from the zombies' POV. If you can persevere through the initial sleazy rich kid escapades, you'll be rewarded (?) with a rapid escalation into something truly mesmerizing and immersively horrific, in a loss of bodily control kind of way. Grade = A-. (Shudder)

for a while baby used the same sounds for light and water and shiny/clear and also things that rolled down or came from above and it struck me as immersively poetic communication
need more of a based parenting scene on here. I wanna read more silly precocious anecdotes and hot takes on children's literature! I wanna hear about ppl trying weird pedagogical experiments & inventing games for their kids!
